Forgiven Much!

I’d usually tell people that the reason why it’s sometimes difficult for us to forgive others is because we haven’t fully understood how much we’ve been forgiven, understood what truly happened at the cross.

What I’m seeing now more clearly is because many of us don’t know or believe all our sins (past, present and future) have been forgiven, we don’t have the full experience of God’s love and grace, which would then empower us to forgive others.

Living life uncertain of our position with God, not sure of our standing with Him, keeps us on shaky ground. An understanding of our complete forgiveness places us on solid ground and empowers us to extend that same unconditional love, that same unconditional forgiveness, that same grace to those in our lives.

This is how the Gospel empowers us to forgive. We love because God first loved us. Our ability to love, to forgive others, comes from our experience of His amazing love for us, overflowing into the lives of our loved ones.

You are forgiven child of God.

Be free.
