I taught my first class of 6-11 year olds at church today 😊 The anxiety that hovered about throughout this past week..wacha tu. I tend to be more comfortable having sessions with adults. Today's was entering new territory. The week was spent trying to figure out how to break down concepts of faith, hearing God… Continue reading I did it!
Slow Down
I’ve noticed how one can easily breeze through a passage of Scripture shared on Whatsapp or on a daily devotional, and miss out on what the verses are saying. I’ve had to remind myself, ”If at all I’m going to read it, why not read it well and think through each word I’m reading?” The… Continue reading Slow Down
Diving In
I was reminded today about the importance of immersing myself in God's Word, drowning my mind in the Word till what I know in my head becomes what I believe in my heart and automatically live out. It's one thing to know that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you;… Continue reading Diving In
Come to the Father
Love abounds toward you. We see it in the story of the prodigal son. Having squandered his father’s money, on his return home, from a distance, his father saw him. Fell on his neck. Kissed him repeatedly. Called forth for the best robe to be put on him. Put a ring on his hand. Put… Continue reading Come to the Father
What You Feed, Grows.
WHAT YOU FEED GROWS. What you feed grows. That was one of my big take outs from church today. If you’re struggling with something (an addiction, a bad habit, etc), countering it with an immersion into the things of God (time studying or listening to His Word, attending church services, life group and Bible study… Continue reading What You Feed, Grows.
Pacing Myself
I’m learning to engage Holy Spirit step by step, and not dash ahead at the first instruction or revelation, leaving Him behind. I’m learning to slow down and engage Him at each step, in every decision. It's refreshing. I’m then able to take each step with certainty and have tangible results. Try it.
Frankness with God
There’s something I recently discovered about this popular verse of Scripture: “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” ~ Hebrews 4:16 KJVThe word “boldly” here, in the original Greek language, actually means all out spokeness, frankness, freedom… Continue reading Frankness with God
Peace of Mind
Maintaining peace internally is so important. When you rid your mind of unaddressed pending activities & worrying thoughts, it leaves you open to more clearly hear God’s leadings & promptings in your heart. Today has been a good example of this for me 😊 Declutter your mind & experience more of God’s leading.
Intimacy with God
Intimacy with God is something I continually seek to develop. How I describe intimacy is letting God into every area of our lives, engaging with Him regarding those areas. It’s been a joy leaning more on Him for wisdom, for direction on what to do, etc. The relationship is a practical one, one that guides… Continue reading Intimacy with God
Give Them A Break
I’m learning to give people a break. We’re in so many Whatsapp groups, a number of social media platforms..if we were to respond to Every. Single. Message/Post..tungeishi hapa 🙂 Tafadhali extend grace this way also 🙂 Sometimes I actually enjoy the video/post, and even share it with others, but don’t have much to say about… Continue reading Give Them A Break
